Upper Blepharoplasty
Do your eyes make you look older than you feel? The ageing process, hereditary and environmental factors can all cause your eyes to sag and droop. However, eyelid surgery could help you reduce heavy and tired looking eyes.
The skin around your upper eye is among the thinnest anywhere on your body and there is a layer of muscle located just behind the skin. As you get older the muscles weaken and fat deposits move. This then causes puffiness and drooping on the upper eyelid. In addition, the collagen around the eye breaks down with age and loses its elasticity.
Upper eyelid surgery involves removing or redistributing fatty deposits from the upper eyelid. Under local anaesthetic your surgeon will make an incision on the natural contours of your upper eyelid. This allows any scars to be as discreet as possible. The excess fat is then removed or redistributed.
Seven to ten days after surgery you should have brighter looking eyes with the youthful look you desire.
